What is NTA8790
NTA 8790 for the evaluation of constructive safety large constructions has been published.
As of 1-7-2024 it is obligatory for municipalities to have public buildings inspected periodically starting with a baseline measurement.

In November 2020 a part of the roof of the stadion of footballclub AZ collapsed.
The research board for safety (0vV) has done an investigation into this collapse.
As a result of this investigation the board has advises to make legally compulsory periodical inspections for the safety of public buildings from consequence class 3.
And that the owners have their buildings inspected periodically as to the constructive safety
On this basis the Dutch Technical Convention (NTA)8790 for the periodical reliability of structural safety of existing buildings has been developed.
